Creating a stone finish

Did you know our systems can also be adapted to fit stone slips? We offer a selection of reconstructed stone slips from Bradstone, which are manufactured to order and are available in a range of different styles, textures, colours and sizes.

We can supply three heights of stone slips; 65, 140 & 215mm to fit within the ribbed tracks of our systems’ backer panels. Our stone installation guide shows you how to modify the panels to accommodate the different heights of stone slips, and provides step-by-step instructions for setting out and fixing them to our panels. You can download the guide here.

In addition to the Bradstone slips, we can also source other stone products including natural stone. Please enquire for details.

A number of our clients have used stone slips on their homes to great effect; here are a few:

Self-build private house, Somerset

The owners of this new build, timber frame house, achieved a contemporary style by using our P-Clad system with Bradstone Rough Dressed Buff stone slips and our Light Sandstone Europoint mortar together with timber cladding.

P-Clad is fixed directly to battens or bracket systems to form a rigid external sheathing that will act as a rainscreen. It is LABC registered and comes with our own 25 year guarantee.

The homeowners were so delighted with the end results that they extended the areas they had intended to clad with stone. Friends and family have been highly complimentary about their contemporary home with its traditional twist.

Self-build private house, Dorset

The owners of this new build house wanted a stone finish to fit in with the golden stone used on a large number of houses in the local area. The house was built using insulated timber frame construction with aqua board panel sheathing on battens to create a cavity.

As the structure was already well insulated, our thinnest 17mm X-Clad was used and fitted direct to the aqua board. It was then faced with Bradstone Rough Dressed Buff slips and our Light Sandstone Europoint mortar.

X-Clad is an external wall insulation system that is lightweight and easy to install. The extruded polystyrene panel used to make X-Clad has a BRE Green Guide Rating of A and is available in a number of thicknesses from 17 to 100mm insulation. X-Clad is LABC registered and covered by our guarantee.

The final result was a warm, characterful finish that was well received by neighbours, who appreciated the efforts to make the house fit in with the surrounding area. The owners said:“We went to the Eurobrick showroom in Bristol to see the system for ourselves and were extremely impressed with the X-Clad. We did look at other systems but either they were imports without the necessary British standards or they were not the ‘look’ we were trying to achieve.”

Stone clad extension, Yorkshire

This extension had to be sympathetic to the existing traditional, stone fronted house.  We supplied P-Clad with Bradstone Square Dressed Buff slips and corner pieces manufactured to 140mm height to closely match the existing property. The stone work was finished with our Light Sandstone Europoint mortar. The extension was an attractive addition to the property and successfully complemented the existing building.
