It would be fair to say that last year brought many challenges, that were unimaginable at the start of 2020. Apart from the first lockdown, by and large construction has continued and despite the difficult situation we still find ourselves in, construction work carries on – for now.
We have continued supplying our cladding systems and brick slips throughout the pandemic and, government restrictions permitting, will continue to do so. We are currently operating with reduced staff on the premises, as our estimators are working remotely, and as a result responses to enquiries and despatching of orders may sometimes take a little longer than normal. We ask that you bear with us and thank you for your understanding.
In addition to Covid-19, the other potentially big challenge is Brexit, at least in the short term. Now that the transition period has ended and we get to grips with the new trading relationship, we may experience some delays in the supply chain. We have taken measures to mitigate this by increasing stock levels but there may be a lengthening in lead times for some brick slips imported from Europe. We recommend, to help ensure projects continue on schedule, that you discuss your requirements with us as early as possible when planning projects.
Despite the circumstances we all find ourselves in, we remain optimistic and hopeful for 2021. Construction seemed to bounce back last year, which was good news. As a business, we continue to innovate and look for new ways to enhance our product offering and customer experience. As such, we are currently developing a new system and a new e-commerce facility on our website, both of which we look forward to launching later this year.
