UNIQLO Bristol showcases the benefits of I-Clad for retail interiors

26th June 2026

Creating memorable retail environments is about more than products and branding. The materials used throughout a store can play a key role in shaping the customer experience, helping to create spaces that feel welcoming, distinctive and aligned with a brand’s identity.

Our latest case study highlights how I-Clad was used to bring an authentic brick finish to the new UNIQLO store at Cabots Circus, Bristol.

As part of the retailer’s first South West location, the project required a practical solution that would deliver the appearance of traditional brickwork without sacrificing valuable floor space. Working alongside contractor UC Build Ltd and installer ML Brickwork (Southern), we supplied approximately 175m² of I-Clad along with Classic range Topaz brick slips and matching corners.

The system was used primarily within the store’s central stairwell, creating a striking feature that complements the contemporary retail design while adding warmth and texture. Additional feature wall areas in the store help to create a cohesive interior finish that enhances the overall customer environment.

For commercial interiors, achieving the character of traditional brickwork can be challenging. Full masonry construction may not be practical due to structural constraints, available space or installation programmes. I-Clad has been developed specifically to overcome these challenges, providing a slim, lightweight solution that delivers a real brick finish.

Suitable for retail, leisure, hospitality, education and commercial environments, I-Clad offers quick installation, minimal impact on floor space and a durable finish designed to withstand busy internal settings.

The UNIQLO Bristol project demonstrates how brick slip systems can be used to introduce character and visual interest within modern commercial interiors while supporting practical construction requirements.
